See what I mean about doing stuff in lycra? The things we do to our staff...Sure you still want to work here? As well as people, you need to be able to make friends with animals like this nice doggy. The computer bit can be done on location too. Some animals are quite big, but a little bit of time getting to know them before covering them in markers is well spent. You are occasionally encouraged to have fun at the company's expense - here is the winning go karting squad.

Careers

Think you want to work for artemdigital?

There are several things you should consider:
Our kind of work involves a lot of time in dark rooms in front of computers, so if you're a computer loving vampire this could be the job for you!

Motion capture involves close proximity to people and creatures in lycra covered in targets!  You may even be required to get into one and run around making a fool of yourself.  A good sense of humour and an open mind are important.

You also have to be prepared to work unusual, and sometimes long, hours. This game is definitely not guaranted 9 to 5! Many shoots start very early and finish very late.  Deadlines are often very tight and require us to pull out all the stops to meet them.

Travel can form an element of what we do. Being an international company, we work all over the world. You may have to travel anywhere for a shoot. This can range from two days in Manchester to a week in Japan.  Exciting though it may sound, travel can be tiring, frustrating and damaging to your personal life.

Still interested?

There are a number of formal qualifications that are useful. Degrees are available at universities in a number of relevant subjects.

Above all else you need to be a nice person able to work as part of a team. A brilliant pain in the arse will rarely be employed!
