We have developed a unique 3D, non-laser, ‘instant capture’ head scanning service.
The system is proving to be universally popular with our clients due to its high quality, efficiency, and ability to provide assets that typically are not available from alternative scanning technologies - an animation-ready, rather than simply a 'raw' mesh, and texture maps of high enough resolution for movie and HD applications.
Existing pipelines are easily accommodated by utilising existing client meshes. Alternatively, we can supply a suitable mesh when required. Characters can be created from life in a fraction of the time it takes to create them by hand, saving time and money.
Fully portable, the system has been used in many different locations including the UK, Europe, and even as far afield as Japan.
The Mill | Hot Chip COLOURS
When Mercury-nominated Hot Chip needed a video for their latest release 'Colours', they obviously wanted something new and different, with exceptional visual impact. The director - Nima Nourazideh, of production company Partizan - came up with the idea of a head that gradually collapses into a pool of coloured paint. Difficult to do with traditional methods, but our 4D system handled the job easily.
To realise the director's dream, Hot Chip band member Alexis performed the song in front of our 4D system resulting in 3 minutes of high quality facial animation. This was then supplied to The Mill (who created the 3D for the job) for incorporation into the final video.
